A lot of people I have come across feel a connection with a particular animal, sometimes without ever having seen that animal in real life. My two animals are Elephants and Wolves. Does everyone have this "connection"?
Forum Topic Rating:
1. Yes all kind of cats, Loins to pet cats.
2. I ment tay Lions :)
3. absolutely Sandra, i'm with you on the wolves, there is something magical/spiritual/mystical about them.
4. I have always loved horses and for some reason feel a connection with them. I find them incredibly graceful, beautiful and majestic - it's a wonderful feeling to speak to a horse when riding and they listen to you and respond to your voice...
5. Mine would be a wild horse. I actually read somewhere that the animal you choose describes your personality or how you long to be. After reading this I thought about it and I found it to be somewhat true - I like to be out in the open to run wild and free. I thought I would test out the theory so asked a friend who is quite a homey person and likes to stay in and read newspapers (even when in a foreign country) and he said his favourite animal was a tortoise? Interesting?
6. It's interesting what you say about the animal you choose describing your personality. I once did a test with a friend and in the test the animal you chose is supposed to signify the characteristics that you are looking for in a life partner.
SandraS7. Oh Definitely yes, I love rhinos and I am just like them, shy, loner but with strong family bonds an dprotecting their loved ones fiercely!
8. I never actually thought about it, but I suppose that there is some truth to that. I like dogs - obviously, so does that mean that I would like to be a kept woman? Ok seriously, birds. I love to watch eagles soar, I love the sound doves make when they are happy, but I think most of all I really like birds in flight. I re-routed one of my trips specifically to reach the Colca Canyon in Peru so that I could see the flight of the Condor! There is something liberating about a bird in flight.
9. Giraffes are my favourite. They graceful for their size and fun to watch - especially when the drink. I find them very quirky.
10. Hi Bon, why the long face?! (hehe) :)
Sorry... couldn't help myself. But interesting topic Sandra!
I don't know though, there are really too many options and different characteristics about ourselves that probably show up in many different species...
My favorite 'safari' animal is the ellie, but then I'm not sure if I'm quite as 'laid back', 'big and strong' and love frolicking in wet mud as much.. but I'd like to think that it is perhaps their strong family bonds, mysteriousness, light of foot and great memories (but I'm not all thaaaat mysterious(?), the way I walk - people can usually hear me coming a mile away (as Portia :) ), and I don't have an unusually good memory..)
There must be something though (don't even go near the wrinkles!!), I'll give it some more thought and come back!
