My best African travel experience ever was:

My two favourite things are a safari and the beach, so, in no particular order:

My first bush camping experience in Botswana in the Moremi Game Reserve. I was 13 and went camping with my dad. The highlight was seeing a herd of elephants metres from our camp pushing down a tree!

The Seychelles - ahh! The beach doesn't get better than the Seychelles islands. I fell in love with Denis island, so remote you really can leave the rest of the world behind.

A bit more about me:

Born and raised all over South Africa, I've had the priviledge if travelling to all "four corners" to experience the bush, wildlife and people of this country. After a short stint overseas, I knew that no where else in the world could be home for me, only South Africa. After moving back to Cape Town I began working for Go2Africa which really gave me an opportunity to travel and explore Africa.

I'm all about the experience and making the most of where I am and whats on offer. I do like my creature comforts, but am happy to rough it when the time calls for it. With said, a little 5* luxury is never amiss.

My African travel log:

Originally from a hospitality background, I knew I liked travelling, but not much more than that. All that changed when I started working for Go2Africa  where we were given a crash course in everything travel. Not only did we learn the tricks of the trade, but we got to experience each destination we offer and specialise in. For me, I got to tour South Africa doing things I may never normally do. We then ventured off to Victoria Falls and Botswana, experiencing safaris and boat cruises. I've given up counting the hours of game drives I've clocked up, and my photo albums are fit to burst with pictures of animals, landscapes and the killer African sunsets we get. Further a field, I've snorkelled in the pristine water that surrounds the islands of the Seychelles. Mahe, Praslin, La Digue and Denis - each very different with their own charm. Not to mention sampling the Creole cuisine.... although I never got the opportunity to try the Fruit Bat stew - I hear it's pretty bony!

Watch this space though.... my next travels see me taking on Kenya, Tanzania and Zanzibar!
