My best African travel experience ever was:

My first trip with my family to the Company Gardens in Cape Town. I know, I was 5 and it was an adventure!!

On a more serious note, Botswana was the best experience I ever had.

Spending time on Chief's Island made me feel insignificant - which is a very good lesson to learn, especially when living in an urban jungle. Being stared down by a lion less than 10 metres away can assist in discovering what is important in life - no, not survival - humility.

The Delta was the most peaceful place - "sailing" in those mokoro's (canoes) is amazing, and funny when the guide falls out.

There is so much more to experience, but everyone should find time to cleanse their soul by spending time on safari, where nothing matters but the open skies, when breakfast will be serviced and what adventure awaits you on the next activity out in the bush.

A bit more about me:

Travel is not only my job, but a huge part of my life.

Travel was an accidental career path. After I received a bursary to study International Tourism, I felt that it would be good choice considering tuition was paid for (my initial choice was micro-biology - a far cry). I ended up loving it more than I emagined.

Go2Africa has given me the opportunity to grow within the industry and as a travel expert. There is nothing better than assisting others with their plans to Africa!

Motto: It does not matter where you went, its what you felt when you were there.

My African travel log:

2006 - The Garden Route

2007 - March: Sun City, Pilanesberg and August: Kruger Park, Hazyview

2008 - Botswana and Victoria Falls

2009 - Extensive travel through Cape Town as well as the Garden Route and an Eastern Cape Safari. Bunji Jumped for the first time as well.

2010 - May: The Greater Kruger Park and Panorama Route, August: Might be off to Namibia
